I like to keep it simple and only use something if I have a good reason. So to start it will just be filter floss and a small bag of carbon, both changed frequently. And I'm not going to run a skimmer right off the bat either. I have a cpr backpack skimmer I will modify and use if I feel I need to. Or possibly use that section for macro algae. Either in a fuge setup or maybe a small scrubber.

Thanks for posting this build thread. I’m dying to do a DIY all in one aroubd75 gallons. The a spot I want to put it doesn’t allow for a sump.
I noticed you mentioned a CPR skimmer which you may use if need be. When using it as a skimmer before did it work well? I had one but returned it because it wasn’t working. I think it was a defective pump.

Looks great bud.

@Instigate Very nice. You planned and executed very well.

Not sure if I missed it but what's in the container at the back left floating?

Yea. Very good chance that it is a Duncan.

Give it a week or so and itll definitely show.

You can try to feed it a SINGLE piece of mysis every couple of days and itll help it grow.
