Found this growing on the back of a rock - i don't think i've ever had clove polyps and the last time I had a goni in the tank was years ago. I thought it was a goni because it is a nice yellow color (not showing in the pic here) and seems to be growing altogether. but the polyps seem more like clove's i have seen online.

please ID.

mine has 8 per polyp. all of them come from what looks like a single mass ((like a goni)... but the polyps seem "different"
I thought I counted 8, but wasn't sure. It definitely looks different than a goni (which has 24 tentacles per polyp FWIW). Luckily for you there are only about 3,000 octocorallia species to sort through to ID yours! o_O Hopefully someone sees this who recognizes it!
