Got this little gem to fill out my Goni collection and Was wondering what this was? The LPS just got it in and it was a LPS bulk order and he did not know what is was besides red and from Australia. Is this a short tentacle species? Is that why they are not that long or is he still unhappy? I have a right when I got it photo to a now picture(three days later). Most ones I have had where always roundish and this is very flat. Any ideas?

There are short polyp version of goni, I think they are called micro goniopora. But i dont think your one is from that category. I think your one is standard goniopora, and it looks unhappy. They need less light, so either keep him in shade or not direct light, and provide thorough light acclimation. They require relatively stable tank and they feed on rotifiers (such as reef roid) or other small particle food. Once happy and theres enough flow, it should opened up nicely
