Goni with black dots?

Hi, I inherited my dads tank and I am still quite new to the marine set up! Our Goni hasn’t opened up in a couple of weeks and looks like the first image, after adjusting the lights it looks like it is extending out more although we have noticed there are these small black dots growing on it. Any ideas on what it may be and if this is normal!?

This is how they typically look when they're retracted a lot. Are the polyps extending out more now?

Yes not even 24 hours after the light adjustment it is extending more, where as previously the last few weeks they had not extended at all
