Goni withdrawn

Hi ,
i have had a goni and long tentacle plate and a hammer for about 6 weeks now and all has seemed fine,but last night and today the goni has totally withdrawn.
PH, nitrite, calcium etc all check out , my salt was a little low 0.24.5 (usually at 0.26), ( due to a water change i think).
The only thing i have done different is change from tap to ro/di on friday.
I changed 20 litres on Friday and 15 litres on Monday the tank is 270 litres.
Also i bought a used water drum from the lfs , im hoping there was nothing bad in it
It could be the fish brushing past it but note sure.
Also i've noticed since getting the goni it has come out further as time went on , which i thought was a good sign.
Also i have a diatom bloom.
The tank is two and a half months old roughly.
Any help

Hello Mark,
pictures will help out here and so will your parameters. When you need a better answer you need to provide specifics of your water testing results. The diatom bloom could be from the tap water or just part of the new tank syndrome. Did you clean out the water drum before using it? If so, what did you use?
Switching to RO/DI was a step in the right direction..:D

PH 8.34 ,
Salinity 0.024 ,
Calcium 410,
Nitrite 0,
( will do phos tomorrow when i get a new test kit)
Temp 26c
The LFS said the container only had water in it , and they also rinsed it again with tap water before filling it ,
I used the ro from container on Friday to do a 20 liter water change and all was fine till this morning being Tuesday here.
I measured the salinity today and was a bit low .024 ( usually 0.26 ) so i mixed more salt and ro today, it maybe a sudden drop in salt levels that has caused the withdrawal ?
The goni looks like when you first put it in the tank all withdrawn , but since getting it , it has be extended all the time probably about 1/2 inch .
Hammer coral is out but not as much as usual maybe 3/4 of is usual , same with plate , but the lobo seems as per usual .
Im not to concerned about the diatoms in general , i think it is new tank syndrom , my question concerning them is can they affect corals.

Edit: I just checked my salt again and its 0.026.
Also the hammer and plate are fully extended today.

Update :
I think it was the salt level as i raised it back up and all corals out and looking better .
