I purchased this ORA green Goni a month ago and it refuses to fully open. I know it’s not a short tentacle variety as I’ve seen it at the store open.

It’s never looked worse or better than the pic below. It reacts to food immediately by swelling and retracting a I’m broadcasting or spot feeding reef energy AB+ or just feeding the fish.

so feeding it hasn’t helped. I’ve tried moving it from higher light to lower light, I’ve tried minimal flow, medium flow and high flow. None of it makes a difference in its appearance.

The rest of my LPS are happy, couple hammers, a torch, Duncan’s, and galaxea.

parameters:
Nitrate: 5
Dkh: 8.6
Calcium: 440
Magnesium: 1380
Temp: 79F
Salinity: 1.026 via calibrated refractometer.
phosphate: I’m slacking and need to buy a kit.

Looks pale. Maybe your phosphates are bottomed out?
Have you tried any of the powdered goni foods? or Reef roids or something similar?

I haven’t tried any of the powdered stuff, I’ll buy some and give that a shot I suppose. I’ll try the gonipower stuff. As for the color, I’d say it’s gotten better since bringing it back from the store so I wouldn’t say it’s that bad.
