Hey Reefers!

Does this Goniopora looks like it's getting too much flow or is this OK? Let me know your thoughts

It looks fine, but ideally, you would want some flow going the other way as well for a more randomized flow.

Right now, it just looks like it's being blasted from the left which isn't ideal.

If you have random, back and forth flow, you can get by with much higher flow with Goniopora.

I like this suggestion. Any idea how I can achieve this with a Nero 5 powerhead? Right now it's on the pulse setting but is there a setting on this powerhead that will allow me to get that random back and forth flow?

It’s hard to get that without another powerhead that is synced up to provide back and forth action.

I have a sinusoidal wave maker that can kinda do it, but it would be perfect if it were paired up with another one on the other side.

I would mess around with the settings until you can make the tentacles move around a bit more in the other direction as well. Might not be doable if your only source of water movement is the one powerhead

You can try to aim powerhead at another powerhead or return nozzle and let the streams come together to create that chaotic, random flow as another option.
