Goniopora problem.

So I have this goniopora which is fixed to this rock and I had to up the flow to save other corals, but now the goniopora doesnt fully extend and it has these dark line on them. Should this work itself out or should I try to pry it out and move it

I find that they can adjust to higher current pretty well (as long as the current it intermittent and the coral gets a break).
Each individual coral is different though so if it looks like it is going the wrong direction or tissue starts to recede where the current hits it then step in and move it

What a difference flow makes. I had my Goniopora on my mid rock but I thought it was a bit too high and getting too much light. I also thought it was getting too much flow since it wasn't extending out as much as I would like. So I moved it down the the sand bed which I read was recommended on a bunch of sites.

Well, it did alright and then started retracting. I thought it was just getting used to the new area so I let it be for a week or two. Then it looked like it started crashing. Turns out the area I moved it to had too little flow. Immediately when I moved it to a higher flow area of the sand bed it started extending again within minutes.

I think it can handle the stronger flow. Give it some time and keep on eye on it. ;)
