I have a difficult time with technology and get easily distracted ;). I told myself I would take pictures often for a build thread then… didn’t take pictures. Thus I’ve been hesitant to make a build thread for fear it’d be too boring. So apologize in advance. Now to it:
A member here sent me my first tank! It’s a Waterbox peninsula mini 25gallon.
Equipment:
- x2 eheim jeager 100w heaters and Ink Bird.
- Originally ran a AI Prime - replaced with older series Radion XR30. (Toned wayyy down).
- x2 AI Nero babies (the 3s).
- Tunze ATO w/ Eshopps 5gal ATO Reservoir
- Sicce Syncra Silent 1.0 (I believe…)
- inTank Media Basket for chamber 1
Stand was custom w/ a whole bunch of shenanigans involved. See I live on the 3rd floor and my girlfriend was suuuppper concerned that the stand not fall apart :).

Parameters:
Specific Gravity: 1.025 (I purchase salt from LFS) DOUBLE CHECKED by refractometer and I have a Milwaukee Tester.
Phosphates: 0.03 -0.05 tested via Hanna
Nitrates: 5ish Red Sea
Alk: 8.5 Hanna
Cal: ~440 Aquaforest
Mag: ~1300 Aquaforest
No detectable Ammonia or Nitrites
Don’t test PH
Temp: 78-79 (love Ink Bird)
Started with Real Reef Rock and CaribSea “Live Sand”
I do biweekly 10% water changes. And dose B-Ionic (2.0 ml) Monday,Wed, Fri.
Phyto from a local supplier (25ml) nightly.

One thing I wish I was better at (aside from taking pics lol) was staying on top of cleaning the glass. I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve let the glass go w/o cleaning - inside and out - for the two weeks between water changes.

We (friend pictured) rebuild Porsches (specifically 914s).
WE ARE BY NO MEANS woodworkers haha. But it came out pretty well I think. I was going to backlight the corrugated sheet metal but haven’t gotten around to it. Not sure if would distract from the tank? Pretty good room underneath with two roll out (easy close) drawers/shelves. But I’ve accumulated a lot of “stuff” so I’m always being asked to clean up my area in the office :).

How does your Royal Gramma behave in the tank? I’m considering buying one, but I keep reading that they can be a pain in terms of aggression.

@OldRed1 - im so sorry i didnt see this! I dont come back here often lol. Gramma is great - very little in the way of aggression. Has its spot and will venture just outside its hidey hole to monitor. Very shy and gets in line for food - no aggression that way either. Great fish.

No reason to apologize haha. But I appreciate your response! I’m thinking about getting one, but I hear so many stories of Gramas getting aggressive, so we’ll see.
