Happy Birthday GIF by MOODMAN

My humidifier keeps the basement at 45 unless the doors are open a lot and then it is 50.
I live in a Humidifier here on Long Island 90 yards from the sea. The humidity usually hovers around 80, Unless it's raining and in the last few weeks I don't remember what that feels like when it's not raining.

Good morning
I woke up early and have been out mucking around in the fish room. I have no idea why but my ORP has risen to 422 on it's own which is far above where the ozone cuts off. The probe is only a month old. I am debating turning the generator way down and turning the controller up to 450. The probe is in the flow from the drains now so That must be where the tank is. Waiting for the lights to come on at 7. I hate it when it starts doing stuff I dont understand.

into the "no rhyme or reason file".

Good Morning Reefies.
I was reading another one of those
"to QT, or not to QT" posts here.
very entertaining.
good stuff @WVNed and @Paul B.
not looking forward to a weekend of 90's (degrees... not music)
no AC and a 12 hour day tomorrow.
enjoy your day whatever it may bring.
unless it's sucky. then go take a nap.

From now on anyone that mentions QT is going on ignore for 2 weeks so I am not tempted to reply. I have a deep interest in why some tanks never pop disease but there is very little interest in discussing that.
I am not trying to make anyone mad or threaten their authority. Just perhaps think outside the box a little bit.
When I started with freshwater tanks I had a lot of ich and the old timers loved tweaking me and telling me I was doing it wrong. One of them happened to be my new father in law and he really loved twisting the short hairs. I figured it out.
I cant remember what I figured out though. It was a long time ago. I think I just do it on automatic now.

We got Earnest a 55 gallon setup for his birthday one year and he was really excited. He doesnt keep fish anymore though. He used to raise cichlids and bristle nose plecos. I raised angels, jack dempseys and convicts.
He did manage to make it here after his wife passed and saw my tanks.

Is that a lionfish?
yes
It can kill you
I wont try to pet it Earnest

some things never change

I take a nap every day. I never sleep more than 4 hours anyway. As soon as the drugs wear off I wake up and they only last 3-5 hours so I am taking them 6 times a day every 4 hours or so.

I feel your pain ... literally. I have been dealing with the same thing. The neck pain is so bad that there is no comfortable position. One of the pills takes an hour to kick in and then I can sleep for three before the pain wakes me up again. I finally have an appt with a specialist today. It's an hour drive away and driving is he**. Hoping that they do more than tell me to go get imagining and come back in another month.

Thank you for the lionfish laugh... you made my morning!

Good luck. It only took me 5 years to get some actual relief and by then it was a matter of too little to late.
May you have something simple they can fix.

I have spinal stenosis and herniated discs. I was going to have surgery at laser spine institute 3 years ago and then they went out of business literally the week I was scheduled. I wasted another year with epidurals and cortisone shots. By the time I worked my way up the the almighty surgeon, he kept me waiting for 3 hours. When I got my whole ten minutes with him, he had never reviewed my file, could not do the courtesy of even reading my name and suggested I start from the beginning with an evaluation for carpal tunnel. I still owe him $600 but I'm still too ticked off to pay him for wasting my time.
I went to the ER two weeks ago. They directed me to the person I am seeing today. I'm just astounded that for two weeks, I have been unable to get anyone to write an order for an MRI. I could have had that done and ready by the time I went to this appointment today.

Hopefully they wont send you to the psychology people because you are making it all up in your head.
I've been there.

I had a double hemilaminectomy to repair my back. I destroyed it lifting something heavy at closing time at Home Depot for an old guy. It totally fixed mine though there is some rehabilitation for a while.

It's kind of funny. Every here says stay safe and healthy, pass it on and such.
My experience has led me to know the universe operates under the no good deed will go unpunished rule.
Of course I am contrary and do them anyway.

Ironic. I injured my back by underestimating the size of a box of roller shades while on top of a ladder at Home Depot when I worked there in my 20's. Back then, noone filled out OTJ injury reports or sent you to the doctor on workers comp. The store manager literally had a cashier drive me home and told me to take the next day or two off to feel better. Someone else drove my car to me a few days later.
I have had issues from that for years! Not saying it's all HD fault. I was also in a car accident so add insult to injury or injury to injury. I'm an interior designer and I will own that I have done a few too many tile, paint, carpentry projects that I should have left to others. My advice to kids is you are NOT ten feet tall and bulletproof. We live with the consequences of our gravitas for the rest of our lives.

I'm glad that you were finally able to get the surgery. I get that cutting should be the last option but treating people like they are crazy when they have legitimate pain is what leads to people making catastrophic choices like drug addiction and suicide.

I will tell you you have to be aggressive with them and demanding.
When I finally got into see the neurosurgeon after waiting months I was in no pain. They had me on Neurontin which worked very well for me.
He looked at my scans and said you aren't in pain so you aren't a candidate for surgery.

I said that's fine but my left leg is numb and I fall over. Which was true. So he took his little rubber hammer and beat my left leg all over and it had no reflexes. He did it over and over again. You cant fake no reflexes.

He said you get your surgery.
As soon as I got out of bed after it there was pain. But I knew it was fixed and the pressure on the nerve was gone.

Good morning everyone! In a slightly ironic twist to the start of my day, I was in the gym this morning and glanced up at a TV to notice a scrolling announcement that it is national donut day. It seems weird that I had to go to the gym to find that key factoid!

Donut GIF

Reef on and try to keep the sprinkles out of your tank!

So you went and undid your workout with 4000 calories of doughnuts?
Happy Doughnut Day

I look it as more that I now have a reason to workout tomorrow! :)

Good morning
I’ve been up since 6 shampooing puppy poo out of the carpet! It is truly amazing that such a devious little creature that weighs 20 pounds can produce twice her mass in waste. I guess that’s why they say be thankful cows don’t fly…

To @CMMorgan, I have a customer whose wife was in immense pain and could hardly get out of bed. She was diagnosed with spinal stenosis in three disc. She was told to buy a wheelchair and get her affairs in order. Her husband refused to accept this and kept looking for a doctor who could help. He found one who said the other doctors should be shot. He operated on her and removed the stenosis. To this day she is a realtor, cleans houses part time, devotes time to her church and child's school and takes care of her house and family. She is the hardest working person I know. So stay strong, keep up hope and refuse to accept no for an answer. There are great doctors out there, we just have to find them. One saved my life.
