Thinking about adding a few photosynthetic gorgonians to my sps dom reef. Is there any issue with sps and the gorgonians touching as things grow out?

So sounds like in general they're not a good match, bummer. But if anyone has had luck with certain types of gorgs not stinging SPS please share which kind you keep. Thanks

Ironically I almost lost my gorg to my green slimer.. I believe it was releasing it's filaments to the gorg and made it close for two days making it start to shed. After the second day I moved it away and held it next to a ph to clean it off, polyps are finally beginning to come out.

Oh I still keep them in the display, off to the sides since the light level is lower there anyway. I have ORA Grubes Gorgonian and a bright purple skin with tan polyp one, most likely Plexaura Flexuosa. I just trim them if they start causing trouble.

There are gorgonians that grow much slower than others. If you want some in your tank I'd recommend some of the Atlantic sea rod species. I've kept these for many years with SPS and never had any issues. The plumes and sea whips grow faster and move in the flow much more.
