Got my RODI set up today .

I ran a drill bit threw my hand too fun times :) not all the way threw but into the fat . Just got a tetanus shot about a month ago when a crushed my middle finger on the same hand . im not going to get stitches this time my hand modeling career is over for that hand anyway :) I got the 4 stage ROdi buddy set up from amazon and eight 5 gallon jugs !!!

Looking good, but as mentioned previously, get either a timer or a float switch or you WILL get distracted and your RODI container WILL overflow..... Ask me how I know this

you are so right had it running all night lol also how long can you keep RODI water in sealed 5 gallon jugs for before the water goes bad . or is it fine ? i filled up 8 jugs and now its been sitting there

I really don't know the correct answer to your question about RODI storage. RODI water is very reactive, and will interact with nearly anything it can find (even in the air). But many store RODI in ATO containers or water change stations for long periods of time (weeks, if not more). I would like to think you're good for some time if your containers are covered.

how old is the water on earth......? Theoretically as long as nothing creeps in it should stay 0 TDS. You can test it and meters are cheap

Hello and Welcome to R2R!

Having your own RODI is such a nice quality of life improvement. I would suggest if you use it with your freshwater tanks to mix it 50/50 with whatever water you normally use. Straight RODI water in a freshwater tank will alter PH and starve any live plants from minerals they need. It works for saltwater because our salt mix adds all the minerals back into the water when we mix it.
