Couple questions do you guys prefer high flow or low flow through your sump? Also getting mixed answers on weather the GPH from your power heads is included in your overall gph? Some people talk about having 2,000 GPH total but that surely can't be going through the sump?

I run about 4x thru the sump. Powerheads do not count.
That's what I thought and two of the local fish stores near me swear that the power heads do count because it is actually circulating that amount of water

Some of these people are running 10 to 15 times tank volume to their sump. My Sump would allow it but why would you want that much water flow through there? How is copepods or anything supposed to stay in there when the water is Flowing 2000 GPH LOL

I think there’s no reason the flow though the sump needs to be more than 0.5x the tank volume per hour as long as you have good aeration in the tank from flow there. Nothing else needs to be changed so rapidly, IMO.

You run skimmer, reactor or sterilizer?
