Hello, im wondering just how aggressive the green brittle stars are, I’ve seen a few at my lfs for a while now and want to know what a good size tank is for them and if they would kill my fish or anything else?

My memory sux, but I think they hunt at night… had 1 in my 450g years ago, with about 80 fish… had to rehome it!

Could you recommend a minimum tank size? I’d still like to get one lol and if possible I could just leave them in a tank by themselves, thank you

To my knowledge, the green ones are said to hunt fish.

They do come in a near-similar black that is said to be much safer:

I would say a 10 or 20 is fine with a decent HOB filter. They are pretty much only active when looking for food. I don't consider them reef safe with regards to fish and inverts (including corals).

Yeah I actually have a black one and he’s great I’d just really like a green also, stars are some of my favorite animals and this green brittle is so pretty
