i have a green bubble tip anemone that after the first night moved to the bottom of a rock. It’s been there 2-3 months I think.

It opens and I feed it 1-2 times a week but it get very little light.

I know they decide where they want to be but can they survive without any direct light? I can move it either because it is in a deep hole and I wouldnt want to kill it trying to save it lol!

Do I just let it be? Anyone else have an anemone that lives in shade?

On a side note it is sorta hosting that cardinal fish, it hangs ou all the time by it.

Have you tried lowering your light intensity?

It appears happy and healthy and if you move it it will go back to where it wants to.

I am up to 23 BTA's again and some of my best looking are in locations similar to what you show and have been for quite some time.

Have you tried feeding it some shrimp or clam etc.? Anemones definitely will move around till they find their happy place or most suitable spot even if it’s not the ideal due to possible issues in your tank like lighting or water flow.

I have lowered my lights for a couple days and no luck. The other BTA likes them at their current level.

I do feed the one under the rock 1-2 time per week to make sure it’s getting some nutrients.

Update on this, he seems to be losing color unfortunately.
Here are a couple pictures, thought they are hard to see him kinda turning grayish instead of green.
One with the flash and the other without.

I could hit it with a power head and try to relocate it?

My RBTA is loving life in the light.

Also I just fed it a small piece of krill yesterday.

That’s a bummer but honestly my hard rule is never to disturb an anemone. They’ll always do what they want, it’s best to let it be. I think it will eventually move when it decides it wants more light and will probably re-color when it does.
