I'm starting to think my green chromis played eggs, but I can't figure out where. I have 3 chromis, and one of them is a lot larger than the other two. I assume that means I have two females and one male. The larger one is shimmying near a rock, and he wont leave the area. it's like he's babysitting. if other fish come near it, he'll starting moving his tail really fast. I assume that's to tell other to back away. I have searched the area and can't find anything obvious. How big are the eggs normally? There was a small hermit in the area, any chance he might have eaten them? I pushed it out of the way, but the chromis continues to come back. I cant see anything. it's interesting to watch his behavior, but I'm not sure what's going on.

there were two snails on part of the rock in the area that the chromis kept coming back to. I wonder if the snails ate the eggs, if there were any

Some times they will lay eggs on the corners on the tank, but other fish will eat that soon after.

if there are in fact eggs somewhere, it would certainly be cool to have babies, but I'm not set up for a hatchery.
we'll see how things go. I'll continue to monitor that area

lights haven't come on yet, but the snails i removed from the area last night, have returned to the exact same spot. i have a feeling they wiped the eggs out. I don't see the chromis guarding the area either. i will see what happens when lights come on.

Another update to the chromis.
They did lay more eggs on the rocks, but they didn't last long.

We have another batch of eggs. This time they're on rhe glass. A lot easier to see.
Pretty cool looking, but I don't expect them to last

Blues are on, but here's a picture of them
