I have a cyphastrea (or plating monti... not sure) that, over the last 4 months has nearly covered its plug and is now reaching the rock. I looked at it this morning and saw that most of the growth was gone! I then noticed a small green crab just perched on top. The little @*$)! I scooped him out and dumped him in another tank. Has anyone ever had a coral eating crab?

I had a large male emerald that gota taste for duncan corals. I sumped him and got two small female emeralds. No issues so far.

I’d reguraly find a blue-legged hermit nesting on my green monti, never the red one. I don’t know if they are munching on algae or what. I just knock them off. The red monti has since start growing but the green not so much. Not sure if the crabs could have stunted it’s growth. (He's kind of camouflaged in this picture)

How can you tell the difference between male and female crabs?
