Green leaved vegetables as food?

Hi Experts, i have seen people putting green leaved vegetables into saltwater tank as food for fish... is this a good practice? Thanks.

Some feed greens to their tank if they have tangs (or other herbavores). You can do this if you'd like but it isn't necessary. Most people just used seaweeds.

I have given them lettuce and spinach, the lettuce relaxes them.

I feed kale, romaine lettuce (works great to calm down new tangs), spinach and broccoli (little heads here and there). Broccoli is my tangs favorite. They go nuts at ripping it apart and then it’s funny watching them try to devour the stalk lol.

hi yep,besides nori,macro,green romaine,lettuce,spinach,but not every day same with the lettuces,may bind ,very little nutrients .

Popular are smashed frozen peas and romaine lettuce _ On lettuce, freeze leafs first to sperate the cellulose fil making it easier for fish to consume

I’m sure all of that is fine ..... I have just avoided feeding terrestrial stuff to my fish given how easy nori is to find (oriental grocer store or Amazon). That includes garlic.

There is some irony in the fact that most of the mysis in frozen is sourced from freshwater lakes ..... but at least it’s aquatic.

constipate ,cause bloating problems,feed a variety of foods to large fish
