Anybody know what this is and how and if I need to get rid of it

The stuff on the polyp? I have no idea.. Actually I want to ask if mine is dying... I accidentally had the lights on max power (I think the lights reset after I unplugged it). Now it has like string looking stuff on it. He was also closing upward when I saw him with the lights on too bright.
