Hi all,
My tank is 75 gallon, 18 months old, I use 2 of MP40 for flow (4’ tank), 2 Radion XR30 for lights. Sparse sand just for look.
I have been having this green algae (or something else) growing on the sand and some growing on the rock. The one on the sand very easy to disperse with turkey baster but then within 1 day it came back.

Nitrate 5
Phosphate 0.2
I use protein skimmer and carbon and GFO media, but very minimal amt.
I only have 4 fishes and feed lightly. My anemones and LPS grows fine in the tank. I just started with SPS the last couple of months, seems just average.

any suggestions to rid of this nuisance algae? I have chemiclean but not sure this will work.

thanks

No, what I did is removing some of the sands, and for what’s still in the tank, I just blow them with turkey baster every 3 days or so. Yesterday I put back the old sands after good washing and air dry for couple weeks. I am pretty sure the green algae will grow back in the sands
