Hello everyone! I'm Sam and as you might have guessed, I'm new to the forums. I've been in the hobby for about 2 years now but I'm just setting up my tank again since my last move. I wasn't sure if I was going to set it up again but I got the "itch" and my wife told me I should, so now that I have permission, here I am.

Basics on my tank...

90 Gallon rectangle
CPR CS102 overflow
eShopps 100 skimmer
Berlin 1 Sump
Danner 1200gph return pump (changing it out to a smaller one on my next water change)
JBJ Chiller
40 lbs base rock
52 lbs live rock (Fiji)
2 Korelia 1150 powerheads
Korelia wave maker

I should be ready for coral within the next few weeks so if anyone knows of a good place to order them from online, please let me know. I look forward to chatting with everyone and picking your brains.

Sam

Welcome. you know you have to take pics or we have to disable your account right? hahaha jk welcome to r2r

I'm not too sure what I'm going with in this one. In my previous tank I had (forgive me if I get the names wrong but I was in Puerto Rico so I'm going by the names they used) branching frogspawn, red and green montipora, sun polyps, neon green star polyps and a huge mushroom colony. Everything really started to take off around the time that I had to take it down to move. I'll see if I can post some pictures of the old tank once I get off work (shhh)

Here are a few pictures of the old tank; everything was a bit sick when these were taken. I'll start a new post with pics from the new build as soon as I get it going. There's just base and live rock in there now so not much to look at.

Welcome!

It looks like the old tank had metal halides? What light(s) are you planning to use for the new one? Every day someone seems to pop up with a new lighting fixture I've never heard of.

You're correct, I have a fixture with T5 and metal halides. I'm going to stick with it for now. I was thinking of going with an LED setup but I don't think I could sell the one I have now and there is nothing wrong with it.
