Growing copepods in refugium

The copepods have really bloomed in my tank and they have eaten literally all algae/diatoms on my glass, sand and rock bed already they look so white! Should I increase the lights to try grow more for them? Also my chaeto is doing such a good job my nitrates measured in at 3.2 yesterday so I reduced the lights to 3 hours per night in the fuge.
also what does white/blue/UV light do? This is my current light schedule on my illumagic mini blaze x
