First and foremost, my Duncan is closed because my shrimp decided to walk on it as I wanted to take a picture. Otherwise, no idea what this is growing on the base, I saw it before but it’s been getting bigger and bigger. It looks like some kind of worm so I’m a bit confused.

This is the best I can do
Look up " feather duster in reef tank", and see if it matches what is on your Duncan. If that's not what it is then I have no idea.

Is it better if I superglue it shut? I’m afraid scraping it could hurt the coral, or is that not a fear I should have.
Where it is sitting, I would smash the shell into rubble and superglue it. Superglue alone may be enough.
