Newbie here.

Is GSP like a cover all for the different varieties. I have a list of 10 different terms/name for them.

So like a Labrador can be brown, short/long haired, small are they just twists on their DNA? confused.

List below taken from sellers descriptions - some are probably the same thing just different name:-

Dark Green
Light Green (could different tanks produce different shades depending on light etc - therefore the description changes)
Purple
Briareum Cylindricum
Ultra Neon
Green Star
Bright Green star
Aussie Fluro ultra
Branching
Xenia GSP

There is no definitive list on the internet as far as I can see.

Cheers

More like marketing terms to make theirs stand out.
I believe Briareum Cylindricum is another species though.

Fwiw the same coral can look vastly different tank to tank based on diet, lighting and overall enviornmental impacts on the corals growth and coloration.

Naming something by its color or calling it ultra are old school marketing terms.

Replying to my own thread lol.

Just worked out the problem with some of these ads.

Green Star Polyps has smooth polyps whereas Encrusting Gorgonian have hairy polyps.

About 20% of GSP sellers are actually showing images of Encrusting Gorgonian. :face-with-open-mouth:
