I am getting ready to start adding coral, and would like to start with something easier and cheap.

I am thinking GSP, but do not want it overtaking the whole tank.

Will putting it on the top shelf (see arrow below) work OK? Will the GSP be able to grow under the shelf rock and onto the column and spread?

Also, lighting will be 2-3 AI Prime HDs. Flow with 1-2 WAV. Both will be directly around that point. Will this be too much light or flow for the GSP?

I forgot to mention - at one point, the shelf rock is only about 1.5" from the glass. Can the GSP "reach out" and spread to the glass?

I would keep the GSP on the bottom rock(s) and isolated, it spreads and will cover other corals. I have two GSP mounds that once were acans, for example.

GSP does not like high light, it will have much better extension lower in your tank.
