My GSP just started doing this halfway open thing a couple of days ago. It’s been in this state almost all day. Should I be worried or is this typical GSP behavior. Did a water change yesterday and some minor lighting adjustments today. Other than that everything has been stable for weeks.

Normal, it’s how it spreads.
It retracts, adds some new real estate, then back in full force.
If waters good, light good, then I would have no concerns.
Does need full spectrum light as well as blue.

What type of flow and what are nutrients.

Thanks. Thought did cross my mind, but I worry. Lol

Let it be as the Beetles say, it will be fine. I had a small piece the size of a nickel, it would go weeks closed initially and then partially open and then close again. Now it's the size of a dollar bill and open all the time.
Don't mess with it.
Time and patience.

Thanks all. I tend to get nervous as it is my first tank with corals. All the others are doing great so it has been a bit of a head scratcher that the “immortal” coral is acting off. Reefkeeping is weird sometimes huh?

Whats the flow like in the area of the gsp. Gsp can take a large amount of flow and seems to do well in high flow.

Resist the need to change things
It will just set you back.
While resilient, can be moody at times.
