My GSP extends fully during the day and will retract if you bother it, but stays out overnight even with the lights off. I am dealing with some algae growing on the mat which I remove regularly (am in the ugly phase still), but if it retracts during the day why wouldn’t it at night?

Because it fears no predation and there is planktonic stuff to feed on 24/7 and it's happy to eat even with the lights off.

Otherwise, it is GSP. Some corals do whatever they can to make our lives difficult. :face-with-hand-over-mouth:
