Hello I have read that GSP can grow on sand and I have also read it can't. Does anyone know if this is possible? I have a nice mat of ~1' x 6" that I would like to put on my sandbed in hopes of having it spread across the entire bottom of the tank.

I would trim this across the sandbed to make sure it did not grow across the whole tank.

Wow how do you get it grow like this? Mine is only starting to encrust a little bit in certain areas on the rocks but will not get started on the sand. My Xenia is growing like crazy sprouting new stalks every couple days so I'm not sure what I'm missing. And what lights do you use?
