I upgraded my the Gyre 230's which were great and opted for the new 350's over MP40/Octopulse 4.
Here are my first impressions.
The good:
-Less parts to remove to clean; color coded for easy side identification assembly.
-Flow directors do improve flow pattern and block light.
-New cages are easier to rotate.
-Flow is super strong.
-Quieter than 200 series right out of the box.

The not so impressive but not bad per se:
-New controller thumb wheel is sensitive and is easy to skip to next setting.
-For the price I thought Bluetooth was included; it’s not, need ICV6 module. *May be my fault for not researching enough but would have definitely sealed the deal over Ecotech had it came with it*
-Outer magnets have a sort of sticky gel pad to them compared to the rubber on the last series that makes it super hard to remove the outer magnet from glass. Some may like this, I do not. I liked being able to slide the magnet around to move the Gyre up and down without getting my hands wet.

yeah spending the extra for the ICV6 kinda sucked but still cheaper than a MP combo and reeflink.

The sticky pad on the outside magnet is kind of odd to me as well. I guess it prevents it from falling but was that ever really a problem?

Never had a problem with the old style magnet. I will cut some felt to put between the glass and magnet and problem solved. I am waiting for videos to come out on the ICV6 controlling the gyres to see if its worth the extra $50.

I just set up my ICV6 last night to control my 330's. I'd say it depends how often you want to tinker with flow. You can have 24 set points instead of the 8 on the controller for changing flow patterns. (I think its 8, don't quote me on that). If you are the type of person that leaves it on one type of flow or only a couple and don't mess with it to much then I wouldn't.

Great info. I set and forget. Right now I have Pump A set to alternating and B to antisynch. What are your settings?

Mine changes like 12 times Haha. Pretty much all the types. This tank is a fresh setup though, no coral yet. Just testing then all.

I do like the alternating and anti sync though. Probably my favorite.

Quick screenshot of the app for you. Not a lot of info on it out there to make an informed purchase atm.

There are videos on coralvues YouTube page for the controller. Based on the 200 series but controls are identical. I just received mine and programmed it pretty easily after watching the video. I wish they would not make programming tinkering take effect until AFTER you are done. These 350s push some serious water and messing around/up in the app directly affects the pumps.

I left the stickers on the magnets so the sticky stuff isnt exposed. The icecap 3ks were like this and it is super hard to “unstick” it to love the pump around.

I just setup some flows patterns too. 24 is the max. I really hope @Terence and Neptune make it IOTA compatible so we can setup some ramp up and downs like @Bulk Reef Supply did in the 160.

100% agreed on all points.

I have to say it's fun controlling from the phone regardless of its usefulness.

So it isn't possible to do anti synch ramp up and ramp down?

You can. Alternating Gyre and anti sync. You can set how long it takes to ramp up and/or down, and how long to sustain max and min % of flow.

I’ve been running an old F130 for a few years. The main knock I had was not having a night mode, but wasn’t a deal breaker. On an impulse buy, I won a ICV6 on eBay for like $20. So I went ahead and picked up a 230 gyre on sale. I absolutely love the new controls of all the flow patterns I can run. Stirred up a ton of crap that I didn’t even know was in the tank.

I think I’m going to get the ICV6 as well. My only question is how to create an undertow effect like MP40’s have that pulls all the crap from the bottom of the tank.

been thinking about upgrading mine. the sticky pads sound great to me! Probably because I clean my gyres by pulling them out..while running, and setting then in a 3" pvc tube filled with vinegar. the next morning..back in the tank, about 10 seconds of brushing.. all clean.

They are ridiculously sticky. You almost have to use a tool to pry them off lol
