I had the same situation and put some black electrical tape for a while.

After that i didn't want to risk voltage leakage so decided to replace it just in case.

As long as the wires themselves are not damaged, you could cut 1 to 1.5 inches of the sheathing away and use heat shrink tubing. Then add a generous dab of silicon around the base.

IMO, I would not try to fix that, especially since that part is submerged.

I’ve seen some heat shrink material that might possible work?

what model and how old is the pump?

what model and how old is the pump?
Xf250 and discontinued. I have a pair hooked up in an alternating gyre mode. I can't get the heat shrink over the other end and the sleeve is ripped at the base.
