I'm thinking about getting a gyre flow pump for my nuvo 30L AIO, but if I want to run it horizontally on one side of the tank, then is the icecap 1k my only option? Specs lost that as being 8.8" long but the smallest maxspect pump seems to be an inch longer. With the AIO setup and the back chambers taking up some inches, I only have 9" or so to work with.

Has anyone mounted a gyre flow pump horizontally in this tank and if so what fit?

I would do the icecap 1k without hesitation. I use it as my primary flow in my IM 20 peninsula.
I run it at 20% max mostly 10% with no dead spots.

Been there and never would again. Unless you do barebottom acros only lol.
I could only do 30% maximum and water flow made some area sith no sand (I'm using coarse grain sand)

Also that blowing cause a loud noise on ice cap 1k which I can hear from my room when tank is at living room (apartment)

Now I'm using mighty jet, and mp10 with 70% flow. Very little dead spots. Happy with it. Maybe 2 mp10 would be better with 40% for even flow

Do you have any sand in your tank or do you run bare bottomed?

I have a jebao that came with the tank (I bought the setup second hand from a local reefer who was upsizing). I wanted to upgrade the pump which was why I was considering the icecap. Where do you have your mp10 mounted and by mightyjet do you just mean the return pump that comes with that setup?

I have sand, regular black flake sized, not really fine, but by no means crushed coral or gravel.

What's wrong with the jebao?

Innovative marine dc mighty jet mid size for return. Changed from stock pump to siccie 1.5 and now this. 0 noise. 0 heat. Adjustable flow. Awesome.

Mp10 I put on left middle side. Because that side is wall anyway. Depends on your rock work I guess
