Haddoni climbing up glass

Preface: This is an 11 month old 65 gallon tall with a 15 gallon sump + Sicce whale 500 canister filter, 2 Kessil A360 lights kept at 40% power, and a 5+ inch deep sand bed

Parameters:
SG sits between 1.024 - 25, pH between 7.8-8.0, 5-10 ppm nitrates

Hello all! stupid question, so I’ve recently picked up what I assume is a peppermint haddoni carpet anemone. After acclimation, I turned off flow and attempted to guide it into the front left corner of the tank where I’ve noticed my clown hosting at night. It landed flat on the sand bed, and I hoped it would start digging. The following day after flow resumed, it’s now moving to the back of the tank, and is now slowly climbing up the glass away from the sand.

Is it normal for them to ignore the sand initially, do I need to dig it a hole to help anchor it? Or perhaps there’s an issue with lighting or flow causing it to want to ascend? The nem itself looks open and happy. I have a Bubble tip in the opposite spot on the right side of the tank that has stayed put with no issues. Am I being too hasty? Or will it find its spot eventually?

The amount of sand you have is hardly deep enough for sand dwelling anemone. Haddoni have been know to retracted completely under the sand and leave no trace that it is actually there.
Which that said, they required a lot of light and it is likely that they don’t like the local condition and wander to look for better place.
Enough light and deeper sand. They do not require a lot of current. It goes without saying that the water condition needs to be good and stable.

My bad! There’s a lip on the stand so pictures I sent didn’t capture how deep the sand bed was. Here are some better ones. The depth varies around the tank, but where the anemone is sitting now there’s about 3.5 inches of sand beneath it. I also have another 20 pounds of sand leftover from when I set the tank up which I can add if that’s helps! Thanks again!
