Hair & Paddle algae (Bryopsis?)?

If you look at the hair algae (or whatever) on the torch plug you can also see some thick paddle-like appendages.

No idea what all of this is in my quarantine but it's growing quickly after some coral dip style tank transfers (3x; 6 days apart) to beat vermatids.

During those xfers I injured a torch which I believe I cured with cipro but now this...

Due to unexpected work related travel I've had these coral quarantined for nearly 6 months.

The good news is they've essentially doubled in size. 3 heads -> 6 or 7 (though small) for example.

And now I'm told I need to move to a new rental in <3 months which could be worse i guess but it would be nice to sort this out in the meantime...

I'm considering using reef flux (Fluconazole) in the quarantine soon and maybe some careful quickly rinsed off q-tip dabs along the plug bases that deliver hydrogen peroxide.

My display tank is looking phenom after I restarted and moved cross country a few years ago. I finally have a tank exploding with coralline and seemingly no pests yet I still haven't populated it with coral. (Ever after several years of trying; and starting over after vermatids in San Diego; those dang little beasties!)

I can’t see bryopsis any where on this pictures, some looks like normal GHA some look like chrysophytes

Yes, chrysophytes are a problem around here and I've beat them in my display finally.

If you zoom in on the 1st picture amongst the hair you can see some very thick (compared to the hair) strands/fronds/paddles, i'm really not sure how to describe them.

Maybe it's just thicker green hair algae?

I've never seen bryopsis in person before.

Perhaps i'm just being paranoid...

I know wich one you referring to, more visible in pic 1. That one could be cladaphora radiosa or similar cladaphora species.

Interesting! I hadn't heard of such a thing. I'm going to look into that more. Busy day today but AI says those are definitely considered a pest in a reef tank.
