Hey friends!
I acquired this coral in early January, and sense then the base has thickened up quite well and I’ve got a good chunk of growth. However, when it was in the store it had these huge flowing “tentacles” almost double the size of the coral. However when I took it home, it never realized that size again. The polyps always looked a little closed up. What should I do to fix it? I know it’s not a shed cause it’s been here for so long and shed in the meantime.

I moved mine out of the flow and it started extending more. Never to the full length and it never gained it’s color. Guess it’s a mystery for now guys.

Look at this photo. The tentacle part is very extended, however the polyp is closed up?

My toadstool took about a year to change from just yellow to green. I think as other people have said that they are just really slow to totally settle. Mine went from the size of a nickel to like 4” around in that time and I think is still just about feeling at home. For me it seems to like being blasted with light but relatively little flow if that helps.

Flow.....

Give more flow if possible...

Green is on lower flow area, and looks a lot like yours, purple are on high flow, and.... Well, you see....
