hammer coral color issue?

as you can see some of my coral have fluorescent tips while others on the same colony do not. What is the common cause for the fluorescent tips to fade away?

Nothing is fading away. Looks like you have a Bi-color or Splatter Hammer. They just grow that way. Do a Goolge image search and you'll see what I mean.

It's like getting 2 different hammers in one! :D
