is it normal for the flow to hold wall hammers polyps up like this. I don’t like how it’s shaping them. I like the look of hammers when it’s more of a ball of polyps. The flow isn’t to much it’s a gentle wave. Any ideas to stop the flow picking holding the polyps up. Also I only got the wall hammer yesterday.

Random flow usually works. Did you get branching hammer or wall hammer. My wall hammers tend to stay up might be the hammer.

It is too early to say. Normally I have them in 1 to 5 cm/s.
They like alternating flow. You can try to give it 1 or 2 mysis in a few days.
Often they open up more the day after feeding. it ca take a week or two for it to get used to the new tank.

Would I need a smarter pump to get alternating flow mine isn’t adjustable.

Normally it wouldn´t be a problem when placing the corals where two pump flows in opposite directions meet.
