Hey I do weekly water changes and i have a clownfish pair and clam and a toadstool in my tank. I don't want to start dosing my tank because I'm such a beginner. Could i get 1 hammer coral and still be steady enough to not need to dose? my clam needs steady alk mag and calc and he is the priority

The more coral you add the more likely you will need to dose calcium and alkalinity. s the clam grows you may also need to. So I don’t see any reason not to get the hammer. IF your tank is stable dosing does not need to be complicated. I suppose you could also change more water If needed. Good luck. Let us know what you choose

Seems like a good addition to me.

The only way to know if/when you need to dose is to keep monitoring, but since you're doing water changes I find it unlikely you'll need to dose anytime soon.

PS - by not complicated - I mean you can dose with a measured amount of Alk every xxx days - (I always would mix it first) - but as you can see in some BRS videos you can just add it to the tank. It would be nice to see a picture of your tank
