Hammer coral mutation?

Hey everyone, I've had a hammer coral for about 2 months now and it seems to be growing quite well. After moving it to the sand it really started growing more but I noticed one of the hammers had mutated with another? I'm not sure if it started that way or just fused together, but I'm curious if anybody has seen this before.

Do you mean you see two skeletons on the coral? It could just be growing a new head. They reproduce asexually this way as well.

I mean the head of the individual tentacles seems to be fused to another, I tried to highlight below:

Ah I see what you mean now. Can't say I have seen that before if they are truly fused together. I would not say that is a mutation that can be passed on when the coral grows though. He definitely looks happy though. Maybe it is trying to form a heart to show you its love for you haha.
