Hey guys,

Just picked up a hammer coral today from the lfs and was wondering if it’s a wall or branching?

That’s a wall like hyla85 said
Branching hammers have more of a stalk to them and walls have no stalk and are just the polyp

Thank you James, any big difference between the two?

You can tell by the polyps. A wall look more like an anchor/curl and lots of branching hammers dont have that

Hey so I waited for the coral to show more of it’s skeleton to get a better idea and now it’s looking more like a branching hammer. On the right side it separates from the others. What do you guys think?
