Hammer in Trouble?

Hammer got knocked over. Now it's got white stuff coming out. Is this stress from being knocked over? While it recover?
I have reglued it down. It had actually broken off it's plug.

Sliming maybe? The fact it isn't fully retracted seems good. But who knows with Euphyllia, well actually many people on here may have good knowledge.
