Hammer not opening. Any ideas?

I am holding on to a hammer for a friend that just bought is last week. It is not opening up and Im confused as to why. Everything else in the tank is doing great. I’ve never had a coral not open up so I’m just looking for some ideas as to maybe why.

Yes I acclimated it to the tank as I have all my coral.

My friend just got his tank so I am holding on to a few coral until his tank is ready.

Only the salinity which I matched but I have gotten almost all the coral I have from there and all the others are doing great.

No, it is actually placed under neither the power head so it get some flow but not a lot.

Just for reference here is the whole tank. The hammer sits under the power head in the back right hand corner

I'd consider checking phosphate, mine generally look like that with a po4 spike and poof around day 10-14 if it's not corrected.

I'm running out of ideas, other than the Clown taking a liking to it, and maybe tried to host in it, and irritated the hammer. Everything else looks great. I hope someone with more experience will have some more suggestions for you.

Their is something you can try, I would dip it in some Seachem iodine coral dip, it will help it in case it’s stressed or has a bacteria infection.

Update #1
Just dipped the coral and placed it in a shaded spot.
I will post another update in a few days.

Low flow as in almost no flow and medium light. Might close at night and fully expand under 200 par.
