Hanging a t5 fixture.

Does anyone have any guides on how to hang a t5 fixture perfectly centered over a tank? I have never done it before.

JK, Ive always used a tape measure and laser guide to help hang fixtures. Ive never gotten it perfect but close enough.

Yeah, my buddy had one that would also give you a straight laser to mark drill points. You put the laser where you want it then it shoots a laser straight up and show you where to drill your anchors. Was super useful but I cannot remember the name of it.

I am literally going to light a nuvo 10 with t5.

Thats probably the best idea. Get it nice, and centered. Then do it.

When I mounted mine I bought 2 2x4s and put them over a tank and then put the light on top of them. It made it easier to measure everything with the light over the tank.

Durolux 24" 2 bulb. I plan to use 1 blue plus, and 1 coral plus. Mounted 12 inches above the surface. I want to run it 8 houts per day.

When I set my tank, I made darned certain it was centered on the edge of a box beam.

Then, all I had to do was laser a line to establish where on the beam I needed to be... Done deal.
