Everyone,
Is anyone using Hanna Checker , HI758 Checker HC [emoji768] - MARINE Calcium?

Is this tester reliable? Worth buying it? Currently using NYOS tester

Thanks

It's pretty difficult to use. I used it a few times and went back to salifert. I wouldn't recommend it.

It's reliable, but as CJ said it's a little complicated to use – especially compared to Salifert. (I haven't used Elos.)

Color blind folks still like it a lot as they have trouble seeing color-change tests, and I'm sure there would be other good uses.

I think this tester gets a bad rap for some reason. I use mine at least once a week for the past two years without any issues in consistency or preparation. I've used the Salifert and Red Sea kits as well to compare and found them all to be within comparable ranges. I prefer the Hannah, but thats just my opinion, the other testing kits work just as well. Consistency in preparation, among other things, is generally the key ;)

A bit late to this party, but just bought one and have readings ALL OVER the place and have studied how to us it many many times. IMO , its junk and I think if you research and do a search on this forum, you will find a majority are not a fan of it. I wish I would have researched this forum before I bought it. I am going to stick with the Red Sea test kit and maybe try the salifert which gets great reviews.

Did you buy the calibration kit to verify the reading?

No I did not .. Im guessing maybe I should huh? I guess all this trying to figure it out and make it work, is why I just figured I would stick with the red sea ...
