I just did fished doing a water change 35 gal on 140 gal tank hanna checker was flashing 5.0 after the water change now the input on the checker is reading 4.89

Anyone using the checker?

When it blinks 5.0 that means the reading is too high.

Do you keep your tank lower and now have a higher reading with this tester?

I am struggling with the high nitrate I am running refugium also what would you recommend

Every week I been doing a water change 30 to 40 gallon

Before the water change po was 0.08 now it's 0.21 I am running a rowahos also phoguard

All 8.5
Cal 510
Meg haven't tested

1 powder blue
1 blue tang
1 gem tank
2 purple tang
1 costing
1 flame angle
And tiny fishes clownfish


I been running the tank 1yr and 2 months

Nitrates should be around 10X phos so if your phos is at .2 and Nitrate around 4 then you aren't too far off. Perhaps time to put new phosgaurd in?

Is this a fish only tank?

That is a lot of larger tangs for a 140g. They produce a lot of waste. Maybe looking into a bigger skimmer or nopox dosing to keep the numbers lower...

I have corals also in the tank I am using q3 by aquamaxx it's a great skimmer wasn't sure where to put the prosgaurd

Ya that's a tough one as they drop easily into a nyos reactor but without room for something like that the only place is in the filter socks.
