What are your thoughts on accuracy and "hobby grade" salinity instruments like the Hanna?

Do you think a Hanna conductivity meter is likely more reliable, or at least consistent within a range, than say a BRS (or comparable) refractometer?

monthly. You can get the calibration packets pretty cheap online (like .99 ea) compared to the 3$+ they seem to charge at LFSs

i think they should be good if calibrated frequently with an appropriate standard. They have better precision than most refractometers.
