So, it’s being awhile but I just want to make another post after I received the replacement from Hanna. Initially, it appeared to be fixed then I gone through couple of new reagents and now found myself that the Hanna read about 150-200ppm higher than salifert. I reached out to Hanna and they sent me new reagents, same results. Anyone?

Not sure I would trust an LFS to be any more accurate then a hobbyist.
It's about getting a second opinion. If you don't trust your LFS to do a simple test, you shouldn't be shopping there.

Sometimes tests are bad, this at least gets some proof.

I had similar exp but with copper, and confirmed with Hanna that they had a bad batch of reagents.

The Hanna Mg test is the least reliable of all their tests.

I replaced mine with the red sea test as it is much more reliable.

My RedSea is 150 low (two kits 6 month difference in date codes) compared to salifert and a new Hanna
not a Hanna fan, but bought it as a 3rd point of reference trying to get reefbot to up and running.

I wouldn't trust an LFS test any more than I'd trust any other random hobbyists test, and those frequently give incorrect results. I agree that as a check it is better than nothing, however.

Second opinions are fine.

LFS? I have had a reef for over 20 years and SW since the late 80s… and freshwater before that. I have shopped dozens of LFS over the years. Some great, some terrible, nome of them I would trust for aquarium advice or water testing :)

Edit:
I see Randy best me to it.
