Hanna Phosphate ULR HI774 defective units?

I recently have purchased the Hanna Phosphate checkers from two different suppliers. Both were defective in that they would not do the time countdown. I had to ask for refunds. Has anyone else has problems with these? I don't know whether to order another one or not.

What happens when you hold the button down?

It doesn't want to do the time countdown. I got the first one to do it one time and then it would not do it again. It is not a reagent problem.

So if you hold the button for 5-6 seconds or so it doesn't change to 3:00? What if you hold it longer?

Well that is weird you had two in a row but I guess it's possible. If you get in a bind in the future you can just do the 3min timing with your phone or some other timer after shaking, and then hitting the button briefly to do an instant reading.

Yep +1 to above you should get an accurate reading by waiting the 3 mins and then just pressing the button, still I think they should send you a unit that works.
