If optimum Nitrite levels are zero and the Hannah checker shows results in ppb, how should I read “5”? .005ppm? Would that be considered really close to zero and good? Same with ammonia. I’m reading .06. Is anything under 1. Considered good?

The nitrite Checker gives the results in ppb of nitrite nitrogem. Multiply by 3.29 to obtain nitrite concentration. For 0.005 ppm NO2-N thats about 0.016 ppm NO2. Thats not zero but pretty darn close. In saltwater nitrite is usually not a concern.

For ammonia, 0.06 is close to zero total ammonia. That’s vert roughly 0.006 free ammonia, which is acceptable.

Thank you! That’s what I thought. Wanted to make sure I wasn’t reading it wrong. Like maybe the .00 was inferred and my .006 was actually 6. If that makes sense.
