I have a few of these checkers that I've been using. I am confused as to what an "unreacted" sample is though. Does it mean an unreacted sample of tank water, or RO water? I've been using tank water and I'm not sure if this is correct. Can anyone clarify?

Nevermind I think I found my answer. Searching around I read some posts saying to use the same sample glass for both unreacted sample and reacted sample, due to the way the checker works with light, and that slight variations on the glass can cause inaccurate results.

I now have another question though regarding the checker, haha... Does anyone know if the unreacted sample part has to be done everytime, or just every so often?

Hi. Can you tell me what it means please.

I’m also in the same boat. I keep getting a calcium of 609, every single time. What’s the unreacted sample? I used my tank water and all I get is 600 even months apart. Never gotten anything other than 600. Helpppp

On the calcium you should be using rodi water and 1ml of the reagent in the bottle... that is your unreacted sample. Push the button to get C2. Remove your curvete add 1ml tank water and reagent b. Shake for 30 seconds and wait 15 seconds before pushing the button again to get your calcium number. That's how my hanna calcium works
