How do you tell the difference between the harmless and the bad fire bristle worms?

That's a normal bristleworm. There aren't really any "bad" bristleworms, just ones that get really big. If you're talking about fireworms which prey on inverts and sometimes coral then those have bristle clusters that look like the end of a makeup brush IMO. Eunicid or Bobbit worms are pretty rare and you can tell them apart by their "whiskers" and multiple legs rather than bristles. Hope that helps!

I keep my bristleworms as well, play a part in my CUC.
